Real
Time feedback
Get right to work by selecting any style you have saved
in the styles bin and being typing. Styles retain all
information regarding font, spacing, border settings,
shadows, colors and fill options. Once you have it designed
to your clients satisfaction, merely clicking
Add in the styles bin will forever keep
those settings just a click away.
While there are numeric options for
everything in ToasterCG, one of the nicest features
is its ability to scale, size, rotate and italicize
by dragging the objects. This real time feedback is
not limited to text, as ToasterCG can also create and
manipulate boxes, polygons, lines, splines and circles.
Drop an image into the background for a still store
page, or map any graphic you like on a selected object.
Chart it out
If you need to create histograms or pie charts, there
is no need to use a graphics program to create them
(Although Aura, supplied with Video Toaster [2], could
easily handle the job). You can either drag out the
lengths or segments for speed, or you can use the numeric
adjustments to define the starting and ending segments
of an arc. Once your elements are created, use the ToasterCG
layout controls to group multiple objects. Now moving
or re-sizing affects them all, which is handy if you
have a common set of elements for your lower third.
Layout can also be used to move objects in front of
or behind one another by simply dragging the object
up or down the list. Again, real time feedback means
faster creation.
World Wide Usage
ToasterCG makes title creation a snap, regardless of
what language you need, thanks to acceptance of installed
keyboards. You can switch between English and Arabic
keyboards, for example, and just go to work. Additionally,
ToasterCG even lets you change direction of type, choosing
from left to right, right to left, or top to bottom.
From English to Hebrew to Chinese, You can even change
keyboard definitions on the same page.
Open Architecture
ToasterCG can save entire projects for later recall and
modification, but it can also save pages in multiple formats.
There are times when compressed images such as tif, gif,
jpg would suffice, and that is fine. For other uses, you
may wish to keep your titles as sharp as possible by saving
in uncompressed bmp, rtv or tga. Additionally, Targa and
Toaster RTV formats retain alpha channel information,
so there is no need to key the page on the Switcher or
ToasterEdit, since Video Toaster [2] automatically senses
alpha channel and treats those pages as overlays. For
scrolls and crawls, pages can be saved as uncompressed
rtv files with intuitive speed controls that indicate
in seconds how long the page will last.
Tight Integration
ToasterCGs tight integration with the rest of the
Video Toaster [2] suite means that you can achieve some
never-before-seen functions, such as using your ToasterVision
Program monitor as the backdrop while you create titles.
This greatly reduces the amount of time needed to see
if placement, colors or shadows will work on the video
in question. No longer will you have to throw your CG
page to Program Out to see if itll work just
use the live video as your background as you compose.
ToasterCG Player
Once youve created your pages, you can send them
directly to Program Out, and Video Toaster [2] lets you
recover some of the screen real estate by using CG Player.
This minimalist interface lets you load as many pages
as you wish and fade pages on and off using the Cue and
Go functions. This way, you can step quickly from pre-production
into production mode, using a much smaller interface to
select the next page. ToasterCG can either overlay your
footage, or you can select either CG or CG Player on the
Switcher to become your Downstream Key, or DSK. NewTek
realizes that titling is important, so we included ToasterCG,
a flexible and powerful tool to let you get the job out
the door as fast as possible. |
